Fees

At Mindwindow, we strive to keep our session prices affordable. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends that registered psychologists charge $280 per consultation, but our fees are substantially less than this at $220 per consultation. Clients may also be eligible for subsidised treatment through a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP. Alternatively, you may wish to claim sessions through your private health insurance, please contact your insurer to find out about your entitlements or call us on 07 5502 9727 for more information.

Cancellations

Mindwindow Psychology operates a strict 48 hour cancellation policy for all appointments booked through our practice. Cancelling or rescheduling an existing appointment with less than 48 hours notice, or failing to attend your appointment, will incur a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees are payable by the client, regardless of how the cost of the session is arranged to be covered (e.g., WorkCover, insurance etc.).

To help you remember your appointments, we will send you an email with your appointment details at the time of booking. We will also send out a reminder text message 3-5 days (72+ hours) prior to your appointment time. If you cannot attend your appointment for any reason, contact us as soon as possible to let us know. It is your responsibility to ensure that you attend your appointments as scheduled, or that you provide us with sufficient notice if you cannot attend. Please do not rely on our reminders as these are a courtesy only and system errors can occur.

FAQ's

Mental Health Treatment Plans (MHTP) can be issued by a GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician. When you call to book, please confirm with your practitioner that you are booking an appointment for the purpose of obtaining a MHTP. Your practitioner will need to see you for a double appointment to appropriately explore your mental health and make recommendations and referrals as required.

A Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) will entitle you to a Medicare rebate on up to 10 individual sessions in a calendar year. To start with, your doctor or psychiatrist will refer you for up to 6 sessions. If you require further assistance, they will provide you with a review of your MHTP which will give you access to more sessions.

It’s OK to feel nervous when talking about your mental health, particularly if this is a topic that you don’t usually discuss with people in your everyday life. Nearly half of us will experience a mental health condition at some point in our lives. If you are feeling anxious or unwell, we can offer Telehealth appointments so that you can access services from the comfort of your own home.

The number of sessions you have with your psychologist will vary for each individual. As you work with your psychologist over the first few sessions, you will develop a plan with them to give you a better idea of what to expect.

Any information provided to us (including notes, records and test results) is treated confidentially and stored in a secure location. Our administration team will have access to some personal information, but will not be able to see session notes. No information will be disclosed to any third party (except the referring practitioner – if applicable) without your consent.
